PROMISE TO ME — January 21, 2007
Nikon D200: 50mm, 1/1250 f/2.8
Yesterday was a splendid sunny day; perfect for an outdoor excursion. This photo was taken at Swan Lake; there was a distinct absence of swans, but I manged to capture these ducks. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.
Looks like a fantastic day for being outside, nice capture.
Comment by Jeff Ambrose — January 21, 2007 @ 2:14 pmReally beautiful Tyler. Was this cropped? If so, I wonder about the original framing. I think I am a bit distracted by the placement of the ducks in the frame and would be curious as to how it would look with a bit more space on the top.
Comment by Brant — January 21, 2007 @ 2:46 pmcrikey! such lovely change of focus. and so utterly clear in the foreground. beautiful. how do you do it?
Comment by caitriona — January 21, 2007 @ 3:02 pmThanks everyone…
@Brant: Interesting point, I am curious myself, but unfortunately this is the original crop. The shooting conditions were somewhat restrictive, resulting in a limited range of options :(
@Caitriona: What a cool name, thanks for the comment :) My 50mm creates a really nice DOF at low apertures; almost painterly with the gentle motion of the water.
Comment by Tyler — January 21, 2007 @ 3:42 pmI really like this one. The bushes (?) in the foreground lead the eyes to the ducks. Well done!
